This Week Condensed

This week I have been feeling a little sick. My stomach has been upset and I've had some intestine pains. That and the cold made it so that I haven't really wanted to go out much. I did go to the school one day and the society one day. Not much is going on there. I've been checking books at the school to see when they were last checked out. And we are still working with the kids from St. Anne's at the Society. I've been a bit nervous and anxious this week. I feel like every time I have started to feel that way recently God has given me encouragement in some way. This week it came from Joshua 21:45 - Not one of all the Lord's good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled. Though reading about Israel in the dessert and more has been hard for me to read it was good to see this. The Lord made some big promises to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. To know that all of those promises were fulfilled reminds me that God does not and cannot fail

SNL 40th

Not much happened this week so I have this to say instead... I have said it before - I love to laugh. So I am pretty excited for tonight and the SNL 40th special. (Yes I am posting about this.) I have been watching the show and movies that cast members have been in for years. I'm glad I have parents who weren't super strict about what I watched - at least I never felt they were. For me watching SNL isn't just about the show but the memories. Memories like all the times we've quoted Gilda Radner around the house by saying "oh, nevermind" when we misheard something. Or trying to do the Two Wild and Crazy Guys walk. Or staying up with late with Kenny when he lived with us for a summer to watch SNL with him. Along with how every time a new phone book comes we go into Steve Martin mode and yell "The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!" (I know he wasn't a cast member but he makes me think of SNL since he has been guest host

Nothing Much

I'm not really sure what to post. I'm still volunteering during the week. Things are going well at the high school. We are working on a few different projects so that keeps me busy. At the society we have been working with some kids from a local Catholic school. It's seven kids ranging from 2nd grade to 8th. We've been doing some genealogy stuff with them. It's been a good learning experience for me because the genealogy class got canceled when I tried to take it. It's been good for me to work with the kids and experience the different ways that they learn. I also got to use my searching knowledge this week when my brother called to ask me how to search something. I really liked that he asked me that. I feel like I am always the one going to him for help since he is always fixing my car. I liked being able to give him an answer. I also liked that he was up to his old tricks of just calling me to make me laugh. I like hearing that excitement in his voice when

Encouragement

This week was interesting only because I ended up getting sick. I've been informed that what was going on with me was a migraine. I would love if that never happened again. I was useless all day. But I still was able to get into the school library one day and the society one day. I got to hear that some of the people at the society have been talking to people from the library I want to work in to tell them what I have been up to. It's encouraging that people would want to see me succeed and keep me around. I have been trying to document those times of encouragement so that I can remember them later. In other news from the week I have been listening to Jason Gray a lot. It's nice to hear a familiar voice speak truth and take that truth into my life. One of the songs I have been listening to this week that I feel like I haven't heard in forever is "The Letter." I forgot how much I loved this song. I found encouragement in this song that I needed. I often h
